Frequently Asked Questions
at the Hummelstown Swim Club
Are you open to the public?
We are not open to the public. We are a private swim club and you must be a member or guest of a member to come in. We offer guest days on the following days that anyone from the public may come in with a member and swim at the rate of $6 per person. Guest days are suspended for the 2021 season.
Are you open today?
Our summer season starts on Memorial Day and ends on Labor Day.
What is the temperature of the pool?
The water is always refreshing!
What are your rules for guests? (No guests are allowed with exceptions of those members with previously reserved pavilions for the 2021 season)
Guest must live outside a 15 mile radius or belong to another pool and have a valid membership card from that pool and a member must be present. The guest fee for anyone younger than 60 costs $6, this includes children, infants and guests who are not swimming. Senior citizens guests are anyone 60 years or older and the rate for seniors is $5. There are no special rates or exceptions to the guest policy.
How do I sign up for activities offered by the club?
Please see the lifeguards at the front desk to inquire about the events. Payment is required at the time of sign up.
I’d like to reserve a pavilion, how do I do that?
Pavilions can be reserved at the front desk by a lifeguard. There is a non-refundable fee due at the time of reservation.
What time does the pool close?
We close at 9:00 p.m. every night unless announced differently or for inclement weather.
What are your rules for babysitters?
HSC members who babysit for non-members during the summer should realize that these children may not be brought to the pool as guests. Children with memberships may bring a babysitter (in swimming attire or street clothes) to the pool as a guest, paying the guest fee. The babysitter does not have to be a HSC member. A babysitter is taking the place of a parent, who should not be present at the pool at the same time.
When signing the guest log at the desk a babysitter should sign in as “babysitter” in place of residency.
What are your hours?
Our hours are Monday-Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. unless otherwise announced; Sunday hours 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Do you offer swim lessons?
We offer our Learn-to-Swim program the last two weeks in June. Learn-To-Swim forms are available on our website or if signing up for the Kindergarten Program, call our manager Linda Strine at 717-566-2274 to schedule a time.
